LORE24 ENTRY #45 – Supers Month #14 – Specialist Leopard

From the Personal Journal of Jennifer Tempest…

Ah, Specialist Leopard…what a delightful discovery.  I suppose my dear sister Gloria can be useful after all, when she’s not dallying with her boi-toy, anyway.

Misha Kyle is the very epitome of a workaholic, going far above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to running her personal business, Latex Leopard Limited, perhaps to her own detriment, though myself and Maria are working on tempering this aspect of her nature; early indicators suggest our methods are having the desired effect.  I was certainly skeptical when Gloria suggested I look into her work; what need did I have of a fetishist making latex sex costumes, even if they were more advanced than the average catsuit?  In retrospect, I suppose my initial opinion was hasty and ill-informed; Misha has quickly become perhaps my most valuable team member here at Edgewater.  Without her, we would have only a fraction of the superpower-rated restraint systems we employ here to contain the most dangerous patients, after all.

After her initial demonstration, (what an interesting weekend that was), I immediately proposed a special contract for her, which she rather gratefully accepted.  Misha now works within Edgewater as ‘Specialist Leopard’ (she has no medical training to speak of perhaps aside from basic first aid, so I could not simply elevate her to the medical staff with such a title like I did Healslut, could I?), and she seems to enjoy the moniker, so it shall remain in effect.  If anything, being known as Specialist Leopard within Edgewater’s walls brings out some amusing quirks to Misha’s personality, namely displaying a more snarky attitude compared to her normally polite and professional demeanor.  This tends to come out most often when she sees other staff displaying a lack of respect to others when it is due, or if they are not properly focused on their tasks.  As expected, Doctors Bayne and del Vecchio are the most common recipients of Misha’s snark, given their own personality quirks and the amusing reception they gave Misha during the extended demonstration of her work.

As one of the rare individuals who possesses a resistance to succubus charms, Misha is even more valuable to myself, and the family, in general.  She is able to give her opinion on various matters without our subtle influences affecting her thoughts, and isn’t always trying to fall over herself to please us as most do.  This automatically places her above the rest of the staff, and this distinction has not gone unnoticed, much to Bayne and del Vecchio’s consternation.  Maria has become quite enamored with Misha as well, the pair hitting it off almost immediately during Misha’s first demonstration.  The fact that the pair have a special love of petplay further cemented their bond, and outside of her work here and at 3L, the two spend much of their time together; I do believe Maria is absolutely spoiling Misha when she’s in her pet persona, but as long as it doesn’t affect her work, then so be it.

I must admit that I am consistently impressed with Misha’s remarkable creativity and ability to adapt the designs of her latex clothing and restraints into something innovative and tailored to the needs of individual patients, even those who are not necessarily superpowered.  Though she seems not to be aware of her true nature, she does indeed possess a mystically enhanced creative spark; what was it Claire called her type?  Artificer?  The term seems a bit archaic these days, but there are certainly plenty other examples cropping up across Sentinel City and the world now, the most prominent currently being Mecha Musume.  From my observations, each of these ‘artificers’ possess a unique specialty.  Mecha Musume has her robotics and related technologies for example, and Misha has her latex creations, clothing, restraints, toys, etc.

Further regarding artificers…though I have only observed Misha personally, I can make some suppositions as to their nature; Claire has been avoiding the family for some time now, so I have been unable to speak with her to confirm any of this, so the follow should be taken with some amount of skepticism.  Misha has demonstrated repeatedly to be able to envision methods of construction that would seem nigh impossible given what was previously established as possible in this world, and can make these new creations, or modify existing ones, in a fraction of the time one would expect.  She took one look at Miasma’s prototype containment suit that was developed in-house, for example, and had the improved version ready in less than a week, complete with the strength-enhancing modifications.  Though the reinforcing frame is of a decidedly technological nature, pure robotics, really, the fact that it was so closely interweaved with the latex creation seems to have brought such a thing into Misha’s wheelhouse.  She has admitted no special training in robotics and advanced technologies, and couldn’t exactly explain how her creation process in this regard worked; in her own words, “it just clicked.”

Within their ‘focus’, their chosen craft, I would surmise that artificers possess superhuman stamina, able to remain focused on the task at hand for extended periods without suffering ill effects of exhaustion, either physical or mental, and are able to work on them much faster than a normal person could (though I am not entirely familiar with the nature of Mecha Musume, Bobbi has clued me into some details as to the advancements of her armor and weaponry over time that would help support this theory; her own advancements should have taken months to develop, if not years, according to him).  As an example regarding Misha, I have specified new designs and modifications to existing systems and she has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to turn in exactly what I requested, overnight in many cases, while managing her company’s normal operations, and seems to suffering none of the ill effects one would expect of being severely overworked.  A normal person simply could not keep up with the stress, but she handles it almost effortlessly.

Even if my suppositions are correct, I feel I must still intervene on Misha’s behalf.  Even if she is possessed of superhuman ability, I would be remiss in my duties as a medical doctor if I permitted her to continue indulging the obsession with her work without proper breaks.  I believe that I will begin making plans for her to have a series of mandatory vacations, perhaps here inside of Edgewater or another location held by my family, for a period that shall not be less than one week at a time, more if I feel she has demonstrated a higher than normal amount of work during the preceding period.  If Maria has anything to say against the idea, then I have absolutely no qualms about having her join Misha in enjoying the same comforts and relaxation; we do have suites for couples, after all, as the recent incident with Nurse Winters and Catherine Ramos demonstrated.  It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve intervened on one another’s romantic affairs, and I am certain it will not be the last.  What are sisters for, after all, if not to keep one another in line?

LORE24 ENTRY #44 – Supers Month #13 – Miasma

From the Personal Journal of Jennifer Tempest…

Truly a most unique case, Nurse Miasma, perhaps the most drastic physical change in a person I have witnessed to date following the Azure Cherry Blossom Front event that spread ‘superpowers’ to humanity.  Unlike many of my patients, I was actually there to witness her transformation as it occurred, and thankfully managed to save her life by having some early prototypes for superpowered containment online and ready for testing.  At the time of her initial entry into Edgewater, ‘Miasma’ was suffering from a severe case of dissociation, including amnesia, depersonalization, and dissociative identity disorder.  She still does not remember her name, nor am I able to find any clues as to her identity.  As she stated, she was ‘coming apart’, and it wasn’t long before she actually did, her body transforming into a living gas cloud in the middle of one of our sessions when she was at her most manic.  Her ability to keep herself in a cohesive form was severely limited at the time, so we had to contain her within an air-tight isolation cell and devise methods to communicate with her.

Through some rather novel methods, myself and Doctors Bayne and Del Vecchio were able to create an air tight pressure suit that Miasma could manipulate, mostly composed of special latex, that was fitted with a miniature version of the device we had developed for communication.  This allowed her mobility without fear of complete dissipation of her form and consciousness, and seemed to help bolster her sense of self to the point that she rather quickly learned to not only maintain her gaseous form more easily, but learned that she could manipulate her very essence, creating larger gas clouds and changing their makeup to create multiple effects, including emotion manipulation, incapacitation effects, and even physically destructive effects, such as a corrosive acid cloud.

As she progressed mentally, becoming more aware of herself, though still lacking memories of her past, I made the decision to give her purpose within Edgewater.  Nurse Miasma is something of a warden within our special wing, patrolling its halls to keep an eye on the various patients within, while she constantly emits a low-yield incapacitating gas that fills the airtight halls, ensuring that any escapees or other unauthorized persons are quickly captured.  She is even able to affect me and my sisters with her essence, thus the reason all other staff must wear proper gas masks inside the special wing when on duty.  Since Specialist Leopard came aboard with us, she has been able to enhance Miasma’s pressure suit, reinforcing the latex to be much less susceptible to damage while introducing a powered frame within to greatly enhance Miasma’s physical strength and resilience in the event of a superpowered escape attempt.

I will admit, though, that I am somewhat wary of Miasma.  Though we continue our therapy sessions multiple times each week, I keep her under constant surveillance and am on the lookout for any sudden changes in behavior.  Her mental state is becoming harder to keep track of, even for me; I dare say that she is becoming more alien by the day.  I’m not even certain my succubus charms even work on her anymore, though she still remains loyal thus far.  Should she decide to go rogue, however, there are methods in place that should deal with her powers, though I cannot say what effect they may have on her physically or mentally if the more extreme options must be implemented.

LORE24 ENTRY #43 – Supers Month #12 – Anita Winters

From the Personal Journal of Jennifer Tempest…

What can I say about Ms. Winters?  She has her uses, certainly, as limited as they are; everyone in a position such as myself has need of dumb muscle from time to time, and she certainly fills this niche.  I suppose I was fortunate enough to ensnare her into Edgewater’s web before she could get herself into real trouble after that floundering career as a MMA fighter.  I would hesitate to call her preferred fighting style a style, however; she could be compared to a rampaging rhino flying headlong at her target, absorbing punishment until she finally connects with a sufficiently strong blow or actually manages to land a submission hold.

For the record, Ms. Winters had been accused of massive steroid abuse following the event which gifted humanity with superpowers, due to the very noticeable increase in her muscle mass, though she insisted, and tests would prove, this was not the case.  Though she would be quite the challenging combatant in the women’s league, after a few bouts against one Catherine Ramos in particular, whose style was A) an actual fighting style, and B) was diametrically opposed to Ms. Winters’ “style” by actually using her brain and agility, Ms. Winters would seek ‘greater challenges’ by fighting in the men’s league.  She would prove herself quite a bit more capable here, quickly rising through the ranks and taking the top spot, even taking on the moniker of ‘Emasculator’ for her deeds.

This of course would lead to her further downfall, primarily because of Ms. Winters’ rather distasteful belief in the modern day, highly toxic version of feminism; the less said about that particular area the better.  Truly the cognitive dissonance on display with the modern world is staggering; were it possible, I would insist upon therapy and treatment for much of the current generation of humanity, but alas, I am but one humble succubus and there are much larger issues I must contend with.  She had her following that praised her, had the glory of defeating male after male in one on one combat, brutally so in many cases, but she still struggled with (and would rarely accept challenges from) female opponents, even her proclaimed nemesis, the aforementioned Ms. Ramos.  A curious trait, one which I certainly did not miss when I researched her following her arrest for assaulting several people, in public, in a fit of rage over a disagreement about the nature of her successes.  Making use of some of my family’s influence, I made certain that she was brought to Edgewater for a mental evaluation, not that it took an especially large push to have this done given her violent outbursts and obvious difficulties interacting with people.

During Ms. Winters’ initial observation period, I learned more of the nature of her powers, which I’m still not entirely sure she recognizes she even has; she is rather dense, to put it simply.  She possesses a most unique ability to actually emasculate men simply by virtue of being engaged in combat with them, physically weakening them in a nigh imperceptible manner over time.  The longer she faces them in combat, the weaker they become, though I have yet to find a single test subject that realized this until it is far too late for it to matter; they may as well have been children against Ms. Winters.  This ability was certainly useful, given the direction I am taking Edgewater, even if a higher ratio of superpowers seem to be possessed by females.  Perhaps it is simply that the men haven’t caught up yet; they are generally slower on the uptake in most matters, after all.

Ms. Winters is currently under my employ as a nurse in the special wing of Edgewater.  She is quite useful in restraining patients, especially the growing number of male patients, in particular the one known as Rampage, and now that I’ve been helping her overcome her less desirable attitudes and delusions, she has become mostly tolerable (though I find that her personal hygiene to still be insufficient; she does tend to work out far too much and either doesn’t realize or doesn’t care that she is not the only person in the vicinity).  She is still a blunt instrument, certainly, but a slightly more elegantly crafted one.  Like any good pet, however, she is capable of learning her place through proper incentives and punishments.  She is also quite useful in testing Specialist Leopard’s newest designs for high-security restraints, and I was personally quite amused by her behavior surrounding the illegal fight that occurred between her and Catherine Ramos in the hospital’s employee gym, as well as the subsequent time the pair spent together inside an isolation cell.  That cooled her fire for a time, though I am certain she’ll require further punishments going forward, and I am only too eager to oblige her.  Her continuing education and development shall be most amusing indeed.

LORE24 ENTRY #42 – Supers Month #11 – The Edgewater Institute

From the Personal Journal of Jennifer Tempest…

There is nothing quite like being the ruler of one’s own domain, especially when said domain is filled with some many interesting people and deeply amusing playthings.  I do not strictly rule over Edgewater as a matter of my own pleasures, though that is certainly an aspect of it; no it is a labor of love, one for which I am uniquely suited.  Sentinel City has a very dangerous problem after all; all of those unhinged and mentally unwell superpowered individuals roaming around the city unchecked simply cannot be left to their own devices, can they?  There must be some kind of order, some kind of control mechanism in place to keep these types in check.  This city needed a place where those of unsound mind could be treated properly, and that could handle the unique requirements of containing the varied types of powers growing amongst the populace.  And if it must be done, why then should it not be me to oversee it?  Who else if not me?  They say that if you love your work, it’s not really work; for the most part, this has held true for me in this endeavor, though a few particular individuals have certainly tried my patience.

I have brought the Edgewater Institute into a new age these past few months; before the coming of superpowers, it was of course a most prestigious mental health institution, a place where minds could be healed and studied, a respected place.  Now it is so much more.  I have overseen its expansion into something on an entirely new scale, a facility that boasts the most advanced patient, or prisoner, as some are, restraint, containment, and monitoring systems not only in Sentinel City, but the entire country, perhaps the world.  I don’t take sole credit for this feat; how could I when I simply had the vision to dream, and the willpower to see it done?  No, Edgewater is built upon the backs of many, and it is through the many uniquely talented people I have working for me that this place continues to advance and surpass any challenges it has faced, that its patients are treated in the most appropriate manner as their unique situations require.

Are my methods unorthodox?  Well, of course they are, by humanity’s standards, anyway.  Humanity has always required special treatment, and it has yet to evolve beyond certain limitations inherent in their very genetics.  Having once been human myself, I can understand these limitations, and given my greater insights into their very basest of desires, I am certainly qualified to treat their many issues as I have laid out within the operational guidelines of Edgewater.  Like my own succubus nature, humans are sexually charged creatures, and indeed this must be understood.  They are also dangerous, short-sighted, and prone to acting on their baser desires.  Do I have a biased opinion on their nature?  Perhaps; my sisters and I have certainly survived our share of trials, many over the centuries, in fact.  And yet we have survived, even thrived amongst them, blending in and finding our particular niche among them.

This is perhaps why I am uniquely suited to control a facility such as Edgewater.  Though I certainly hold no love for certain groups and individuals, many of them associated with the blindly faithful religious types, I am absolutely dedicated to making certain that those I can are helped to the absolute fullest of my ability.  We share this world with the humans, and my kind are far fewer in number than they.  Though we are certainly more powerful, it is only recently that humanity has begun to receive powers that place them upon the same level, if not surpassing it.  So, its absolutely necessary for the continued stability of society that I do what I do.  As the Tempests have done for centuries, I too shall shape the world around me.  In this new age, I have chosen to do so using the most powerful of tools at my disposal.  In the end, regardless of whatever powers they may possess, I can see to it that whatever inherent mental instabilities they have are treated, by whatever means I deem necessary to obtain the most favorable outcome.  I will see these poor, unfortunate souls properly treated, and if they happen to become more loyal and obedient afterward, then I can hardly call that a negative outcome, can I?  What are humans if not pets and playthings to a Tempest, after all?

LORE24 ENTRY #37 – Supers Month #6 – Shadow Lynx

Hero Name

Shadow Lynx

Real Name

Selena Esperanza Delgado

Description

Selena is an attractive Latina woman with a fit, curvy body, dark brown eyes and hair, and pleasant, yet rather plain features, though she tends to try to be the center of attention whatever she’s doing.  She typically dresses in whatever fashion is popular at the moment, keeping up with whatever is trending online.  Usually due to personality conflicts, as many find her fiery nature a bit overwhelming, she struggled to stay in work, moving from one job to another, eventually becoming something of a successful online influencer and cosplayer, though her attitude has given her a reputation as something of a bully.

Once she realized she had super powers that, ironically enough, would serve her better out of the limelight, and assumed the identity of the heroine Shadow Lynx, she would fully embrace her fiery spirit and sense of superiority and adapt that into her costume, which consists of very revealing black leather, usually something one would classify as “dominatrix” attire, with long gloves, thigh-high boots with perhaps excessive heels (though she seems to have no trouble performing heroics in them), and figure-hugging leotards and bodysuits that leave little to the imagination.  She is often in competition with Pink Pussy when it comes to who is derided over the lewdness of their heroic persona more in the conservative crowd.

Powers and Abilities

As her name indicates, Shadow Lynx’s powers revolve around shadow and darkness.  When cloaked with sufficient shade, she can teleport from one shadow to another almost instantly, giving her unprecedented mobility, while remaining one with the darkness, practically becoming invisible if she remains fairly still.  Further, when in shadows, her body becomes remarkably quick to heal, almost as if it absorbs the shadows to fuel itself.

Though she does not possess a full-on transformation like her pink-furred rival, Shadow Lynx nonetheless possesses incredible agility and combat ability, using a mix of martial arts styles mixed with her preferred weapons, cat-like claws in her gloves and a stout whip, to subdue her foes in methods that border on kinky, but sex sales, and Shadow Lynx is nothing if not business savvy, always seeming to get the best shots and clips of her fights for her fans, who eagerly pay for the spiciest of content she has to offer.

Shadow Lynx’s powers are not without flaws, however.  Any sudden bright lights can dazzle her while they’re in use, even stun her if shone directly upon her, completely negating her recuperation and other shadow-linked abilities.  This is the primary reason she’s not often seen during the day, and why rumors persist that she stages fights in the daylight so as to give the impression she can fight in the light, though she’s adamant that’s all bullshit started by Pink Pussy’s fans to slander her.

Background Info

Selena has always wanted to live the wealthy and luxurious life, and having grown up in the lower-middle class, has a strong work ethic to make herself successful.  She has been mostly able to do this, though usually can’t hold a job for long due to her hot-tempered, fiery nature getting the better of her.  Thankfully, the internet was there for her, and she found a niche that worked well for her as an influencer and cosplayer, and has been moderately successful in that regard, though she always aims higher and higher, whoever she has to tear down to get there.

She was among the first wave of superpowered heroes in Sentinel City, coming on the scene at roughly the same time as Pink Pussy, whom she took an immediate disliking to, their two personalities not mixing at all.  Their first meeting ended in a shouting match over who deserved the credit for taking down the carjackers that escalated into a fist fight.  Video of the event is still amongst her most highly viewed clips, though, and the debate over who is the hotter of the two feline heroines still rages online.

Some months after she started the hero gig and began earning more money than her day job, Shadow Lynx was approached to join DOMME, who wanted to bring her on as a personality under their banner, handling her marketing, merch sales, etc, all with promises of a massive paycheck.  Money talks with Shadow Lynx, and she was signed up almost before she realized it, and was assigned a woman by the name of Marceline as her omnipresent manager.  Though she would balk at the strictness of Marceline’s scheduling and training routines initially, Shadow Lynx was quick to follow whatever schedule her manager gave her because the money was good, and living the high life was exactly what she wanted.  Though Shadow Lynx had some growing concerns and initially asked lots of questions, namely about who the other heroes she was working with were, and why she had to go through some rather strenuous and demeaning physical training, Marceline deftly deflected such concerns with veiled threats of pulled funding and support, if not outright lawsuits against Shadow Lynx should she break her contract.

So, Shadow Lynx adapted, and eventually would find herself with a most exciting opportunity, namely to see her rival, Pink Pussy, deposed and branded as a criminal, having turned to a life of crime.  Overjoyed at a chance to hunt down the pink bitch, and even to have the idea approved by her corporate masters, Shadow Lynx began hunting Pink Pussy, and would eventually confront her, though the meeting did not go at all as planned, the dark heroine soundly defeated, with Shadow Lynx coming to the shocking realization that Pink Pussy had been holding back during their previous bouts.  This failure, followed by the failure to stop the villainous Dollface, did not sit well with Marceline, who questioned Shadow Lynx’s dedication to being a proper superhero, and insisted upon even more strenuous and ridiculous training.  Needless to say, Shadow Lynx is eager for a rematch with Pink Pussy, and a chance to prove herselff Sentinel City’s top heroine once and for all, whatever it takes.

LORE24 ENTRY #36 – Supers Month #5 – Black Cat

Hero Name

Black Cat

Real Name

Elizabeth “Liz” Powell

Description

Having lived outside of the normal world for decades, Liz remains somewhat stuck in time, as do many of her order, and doesn’t necessarily make much of a distinction between her true identity and her heroic one; pretty much nobody knows her outside of the order anyway.

Though she is well into her 50s, Liz still has the appearance of a teenager, with long black hair reaching down to her butt, worn loose, with very obvious cat ears and a tail covered in black fur.  Her eyes are amber and can appear feline when she is using her arcane sight.  She is of average height and build, and still wears the kinds of clothes she wore when she was still living in the real world, namely heavy metal band shirts and jeans or jean shorts, usually accented with leather collars, cuffs, and maybe even a light chain instead of a belt, and a good pair of stout boots.

As she’s interacting with the people of Sentinel City more and more, and working with the heroes of the city, as Black Cat, she has taken up a costume of her own, going with another classic style, namely the sexy witch.  Her heroic costume consists of a wide-brimmed, floppy witch’s hat with holes for her ears to poke through, beset with various magical charms, a leather mini-dress with a cleavage-revealing bustier top and loose-fitting corset, opera-length gloves, over-the-knee high-heeled boots, and fishnet stockings.  Later, following a bit of a magical mishap involving the mysterious Kitsune, her costume would be composed of magically-infused latex instead of leather.

Powers and Abilities

Unlike the vast majority of the current wave of superpowered individuals, Black Cat is a classically trained arcanist (witch, wizard, mage, whatever the term one decides to use), giving her a wide variety of spells and a deep knowledge of the intricacies of the nature of magic that none of her companions have.  In essence, she is capable of learning and using practically any spell assuming she has the mana reserves to do so, whereas the ‘supers’ around her typically have a rather narrow specialty, their powers focusing in only a few well-defined areas.

Having bonded herself to her familiar, Black Cat possesses heightened senses, not only better night vision, hearing, and smell like a cat, but magical sight which allows her to read the flows of magic and understand their composition almost immediately.  Further, this bond allows her to cast certain spells when she would normally not be able to (such as when bound and gagged), as her familiar can take over the physical requirements in its state of existing between the physical world and the ethereal.

Due to the nature of her training and her deep knowledge of magical theory, and her access to the vast archives of the Sanctum, Black Cat can generally come up with a spell for any occasion, often improvising well-known spells to create other effects, or coming up with innovative uses for simple spells that the overspecialized ‘supers’ often can’t contend with.  She also possesses knowledge of at least one of the forbidden spells, known as the Bands of Arrnor, which calls upon the power of a demon to capture foes n a most inescapable and deeply erotic way.  Further, she also possesses enough magical aptitude to study the ways of chronomancy with the head of the Order of Hecate herself.

Background Info

A woman out of time, Liz was born in the 1970s and raised in the 1980s, growing up in a suburban, middle-class family and enjoying all the entertainment the time period had to offer.  As magic had mostly been drained from the material world, it came as a complete shock to her when, during her early teenage years, she began manifesting uncontrolled magical abilities.  It was soon after these began that Sassy, a member of the Order of Hecate, would appear and officially adopt Liz into the Order as its newest apprentice, the first one since Sassy herself, who had joined in the late 1800s.  Though she would miss her family, Liz was fascinated by the fact that magic was real and that she could use it, and dove headfirst into her studies.  Inside the order’s Sanctum, time has little meaning, and before she knew it, decades had passed, and her magical abilities had matured, though her body still appeared mostly as it did when she was taken in.  She would chose the path of bonding with her familiar instead of keeping it as a separate entity, gaining its feline features.

Then, an amazing thing happened.  Whatever force had sealed up the source of magic in the real world suddenly vanished, and with the dam broken, magic flooded the Earth.  Old leylines were suddenly bursting with power, and people across the face of the world were gaining magical powers of all kinds, kinds that had not been seen in centuries, if not completely new.  Given the Order’s nature, there was really no decisions made to investigate, only to study until the time was right.  Being the youngest of the mages, only in her early 50s, Liz did what any teenager properly raised in the 80s would have done:  she snuck out of the Sanctum and explored Sentinel City on her own, discovering that the world was almost entirely different from how she remembered it.  For the first time, she could understand why it was that most of the members of the Order avoided venturing into the material realm.

It was during her exploration that she would come upon the crime scene that Mecha Musume and Cyber Seer had recently taken care of, learning more details about the strange use of magic and picking up on the magic that was used by the mysterious Pink Pussy, her instincts telling her that there was much more going on that what was at once obvious.  She would eventually run afoul of the Sentinel City police, specifically Detective Conway, during her investigations, and would have to break out, after which she would join up with Mecha Musume and Cyber Seer to hatch a plan to capture Pink Pussy before she could complete her crime spree.  Though they would successfully capture Pink Pussy and learn of the existence of Dollface, their plans would go awry from there, and she would be defeated by the talented illusionist known only as Kitsune.

Following this incident, Liz continues to learn more of the modern world, now with the blessings of her superiors in the Order, to uncover the nature of the mysterious dark entity seeking the magical relics Pink Pussy and Kitsune had been pilfering, and acting as one of the newest heroes of the city to fight the surge of superpowered criminal activity as Black Cat.

LORE24 ENTRY #35 – Supers Month #4 – Mecha Musume

Hero Name

Mecha Musume

Real Name

Emi Koike

Description

Emi is a young and pretty Japanese woman, with dark hair and a pleasant face framed by a pair of glasses, standing just barely at five feet tall.  She wears her hair at shoulder length in a plain cut, and typically dresses neatly, usually wearing a proper skirt, blouse, hose, and sensible shoes.  She’s still getting over her more introverted nature, and doesn’t go out of the way to draw attention to herself.  She does dress more casually when at home, though this usually means she’s wearing some kind of coverall and covered with grease and metal shavings as her favorite hobby of late is tinkering with her armor.

As Mecha Musume, she stands nearly seven feet tall, broad and bulky in the humanoid powered armor.  The current Mk. I design is painted in dark gray and black until she decides on a proper color scheme, the armor several inches thick in most places.  The backpack unit resembles that of an astronaut’s pack, equipped with powerful thrusters that enable her to fly and leap much further than the weight of the suit might indicate it is capable of.  The weapons are likewise much too large to use by a regular human, a large directed energy cannon that she uses like a pistol, and the energy sword stored in the backpack resembling a good sized pipe.

Powers and Abilities

Though Emi doesn’t possess any flashy superpowers, her mind is her greatest asset.  Though she can’t process information at the speeds that Becky does, she has a far greater ability to grasp complex concepts and a far deeper understanding of engineering and robotics, and can learn practically anything if she applies herself.  Her true passion is robotics, though, and that shows in her armored alter ego, Mecha Musume.

Initially appearing as something of a walking tank, Mecha Musume’s armor is continually being refined and modified to adapt to new situations and the ever-changing face of super-powered villainy in Sentinel City and beyond.  The armor itself is extremely dense and heavy, but manages not to overburden most of the city streets, and is capable of shrugging off small arms fire without a scratch, and can even absorb anti-tank rounds to some extent.  The armor is incredibly strong as well, allowing her to lift several tons without putting a strain on the suit’s mechanics.  Having modeled her designs after her favorite mecha anime, Emi’s initial loadout of weaponry were decidedly too much for dealing with most of the criminals she would initially encounter, the powerful energy cannon and sword easily tearing through anything up to an armored truck like a hot knife through butter, even on lower settings.  Emi would adapt her arsenal as time went on, expanding and tweaking it like the rest of the armor.

Though she was never one to get into physical altercations growing up, Emi has had to learn to fight now that she’s embraced her heroic side, practicing with both guns and in various weapons, though she still relies mostly on absorbing damage and providing heavy firepower against more dangerous villains.  She has become something of an amateur martial artist while she’s not tinkering with her armor, learning  unarmed techniques and how to use Japanese swords and naginata, modifying her techniques to better serve her inside her armor.

Background Info

Emi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan as the only child of her parents, dutiful government employees, though her father was often absent due to travel requirements.  From an early age she displayed an amazing intellect, a child prodigy, though her interests always leaned toward the sciences.  Though placed in accelerated courses in school, Emi was not entirely out of touch with pop culture, having fallen in love with the giant robots seen in various manga and anime.  It was perhaps no surprise that she would begin delving into studies on robotics as she rapidly advanced in school.  She had attained a college-level education by the time she reached puberty, and had attained doctorates in engineering and robotics by the age of sixteen.

Though still dedicated to her field of study, Emi also had a desire to see the world and experience American culture, and, against the wishes of her parents, though they would still support her decision, Emi went to America to see the ‘college experience’ first hand, even though she had already surpassed anything they offered.  It was in college that she met Becky Dodgers, who was a couple years older than her, and the two became fast friends and more, sharing a love of technology and her favorite mecha anime.  It was during a summer trip back to Japan after that first year that Emi would learn the truth about her father, that he was actually a highly trained operative performing various clandestine missions for the Japanese government, perhaps even with some lingering ties to the Yakuza, and that he had worked and even clashed with Becky’s father several times over the years.  Though her father was adamant she severe ties with Becky, Emi refused and returned to America, though she learned that Becky was completely clueless about the nature of the work her father did, and to this day, still doesn’t grasp that he’s not a simple accountant.

In the days following the world’s awakening to super powers, Emi worked with Becky to learn the extent of her newfound ability, and for a time thought she hadn’t been gifted with any such changes.  However, she would soon begin to work out designs for technology the likes of which were only in the earliest conceptual phases, and had envisioned her very first powered armor, the early-phase prototypes following in secret soon after, with only Becky aware of what she was doing.  Later, following their graduation and arrival in Sentinel City, with a little help from her father’s contacts within the government to obtain a few particular materials, the two would develop the first working prototype power armor, just before Emi started her new job as a teacher of robotics at Sentinel City University.

As fate would have it, the first test of the armor’s functions would also be the pair’s first encounter with the criminal element of Sentinel City in the form of the Clean Sweep Gang.  Though there would be some trouble during this encounter, the two would emerge victorious, and Emi would tirelessly refine and improve her design from there on, though there always seemed to be an underlying cooling issue for the inside of the armor, one that she has yet to puzzle out.  It would be after an encounter with Clean Sweep herself that the pair would join forces with the mysterious mage Black Cat that would put them on the path to confronting the thieving Pink Pussy, and eventually confronting Dollface and learning of her otherworldly boss.

LORE24 ENTRY #34 – Supers Month #3 – Cyber Seer

Hero Name

Cyber Seer

Real Name

Rebecca “Becky” Dodgers

Description

Normally, Becky appears as an attractive if rather plain looking young woman, with green eyes and wearing her hair long, midway down her back.  She usually embodies the ‘gamer’ look when outside of work, favoring t-shirts and shorts more often than not.  She tends to keep her hair its natural black color, though has been known to ‘photoshop’ its appearance from time to time into a different color or style, using her powers.  When she’s on duty, she dresses professionally, though typically in a more business-casual style for now since most of her duties have been relegated to fixing stuff around the office.  She’s not ashamed of her Texan accent in the slightest, and pulls off the ‘charming Southern girl’ schtick pretty well.

In her alternate persona as Cyber Seer, Becky has fully adopted the ‘cyber goth’ style, wearing her hair in dreadlocked bundles that freely shift color on their own, and dressing mostly in layers of dark latex striped with neon green, her costume featuring long gloves and stockings, a short skirt and bustier-style corset along with a fishnet bodystocking beneath it all, and heavy-duty platform boots that add a good six inches to her height.  She hides her eyes behind a pair of tech goggles, and wears a voice-changing respirator mask that changes the pitch of her voice while she adopts the full valley-girl way of speaking.

Powers and Abilities

Becky’s powers are deeply tied to the internet and cyberspace; in fact, she can’t actually use them if she’s cut off from a network connection, either through a physical, cable connection, or via the pretty much omnipresent wireless internet found throughout the city.  She has the ability to access and control any computers and technology she can access through the networks, usually hacking through any security features in moments.  Her mind functions very much like a computer itself, registering and processing massive amounts of data in moments, and due to this, is resistant, if not outright immune, to any powers that would influence her mind.  Further, she has developed the ability to dive into cyberspace, traveling through these networks and emerging elsewhere in the blink of an eye.  She can also ‘photoshop’ herself, changing her appearance in almost any way imaginable.

Additionally, she can create digital constructs of varying size and complexity, from a simple tool to guns and vehicles, though the greater the complexity, the greater the strain it puts on her ‘RAM’, requiring more and more of her concentration to maintain, though this limit is slowly increasing the more she uses her abilities.  As a side effect of her powers, Becky is ‘always on’, and hasn’t slept in ages, always aware of the world around her in some form or another through her wireless connectivity, though she has discovered ways to dull her technology sense to some extent.

Physically speaking, though, Becky isn’t as impressive as other heroines in town.  Though she’s a decent shot with a gun, she’s not a fighter, and is best when she’s working from behind the scenes.  The few times she has showed up to fight crime in person have not gone well, typically with her winding up in some kind of trouble that requires intervention from one of her allies.

Background Info

Becky grew up in Austin, Texas as the only child of a struggling single mother, having never known her father.  Even from a young age, she exhibited a keen understanding of technology, especially computers, though she didn’t have the chance to truly learn more until her mother remarried to a very successful government accountant, and they moved onto his large ranch in the country, and they could finally afford pretty much anything she could imagine.  Though his work often had him away for many days or weeks at a time, Mr. Dodgers always made it a point to spend any and all time he could with his wife and adopted daughter, even after Becky’s mother passed away just before Becky finished high school.

Much to her father’s chagrin, Becky decided that she needed to get away for a while, and enrolled in college in California.  Still, ever the supportive father, Mr. Dodgers trusted Becky to make the right decisions, and let her do as she wanted.  While moving into the dorm, Becky discovered that her roommate was a Japanese transfer student named Emi, and the two immediately hit it off, both women sharing a love of advanced technology.  Their friendship would grow from there, and the two would remain together throughout college.  Once the pair had graduated, they moved to Sentinel City, into one of the suburban homes Becky’s father owned, to pursue their work; by this time Becky learned that she was one of those gifted with super powers, when she suddenly woke up one morning to find that her hair had changed from black to something akin to fiber optics, color shifting seemingly like the LEDs inside a computer, and could sense every piece of technology connected to the internet in the dorm.  Given the nature of her father’s work, and her own incredible abilities, she would join up with the FBI Cybercrimes unit in Sentinel City, where her abilities could be of the most use.

Outside of work, she would assist Emi with her own incredible project, creating a suit of advanced power armor, and the two would eventually make their debut appearance during a robbery by the Clean Sweep gang, and would soon find themselves mixed up in a much larger plot involving the disgraced heroine Pink Pussy, and eventually Dollface and her mysterious, otherworldly backer.  Following these events, she and her partner Emi would often work with Pink Pussy, Gun Bunny, and Black Cat, with Cyber Seer acting as the eyes and ears for the heroes, handling all their communication needs.

Becky is not without her flaws, though.  Perhaps being a product of the Information Age, and her powers being so closely tied to the internet, she is known to be a bit too obsessed with porn, the kinkier the better, and is very into the BDSM scene, sometimes to her detriment.  Thankfully, Emi is usually there to keep her focused, and assists her with some of her more kinky needs, especially when it comes to ‘unplugging’ for a while.  She can be a bit dense as well, especially when it comes to her father and the nature of his work, and has been in more than a few bad relationships throughout her college years, though she can’t quite seem to quit some of them.

LORE24 ENTRY #33 – Supers Month #2 – Gun Bunny

Hero Name

Gun Bunny

Real Name

Laura Conway

Description

By day, Laura is a detective with the Sentinel City Police Department.  Tall and a bit on the lanky side, she keeps her platinum hair on the longer side, though usually held back in a ponytail or bun when on duty.  She has a pleasant face and demeanor most of the time, and has brown eyes.  Though she typically dresses in pantsuits, leaving her rather nondescript, Laura has a rather shapely body with long legs, though she often downplays her own attractiveness so that she’s rarely the center of attention; she generally leaves that to her best friend, Cat.

As Gun Bunny, Laura lets her body shine, wearing a (mostly) classic-style bunny suit that shows off her cleavage, her long, curvy and muscular legs in full view an further highlighted by fishnet stockings and strapped high heels, and typically lets her hair fly free; somehow the domino mask she wears manages to keep her identity hidden quite well.  Given that she’s known for her amazing feats of gunplay, Gun Bunny’s suit also comes equipped with a pair of pistol holsters on her thighs and a load-bearing harness on her torso for carrying her larger weapons, though the big, white puffball of a tail on her costume seems to have some special qualities, linking to an unknown space large enough to store an RPG or two at least.  Her long, droopy black bunny eared headband likewise contains a tactical radio that she uses to communicate with other heroes and to monitor police transmissions.

Powers and Abilities

Laura has a detail-oriented and analytic mind, and is a skilled detective with several years serving the SCPD, and was already a gifted marksman before adopting her heroic persona.  As Gun Bunny, her capability with firearms is (mostly) unmatched,  and her agility and speed have increased to superhuman levels, making her capable of performing amazing trick shots, fire her weapons at blinding speed, run like the wind, and even dodge incoming bullets, if she doesn’t just shoot them out of the air.  She can also perform amazing leaps, easily clearing most buildings short of a skyscraper in a single leap, allowing her to easily keep up with her partner Pink Pussy, even in her heels, which have been reinforced and known to be able to deliver powerful kicks.

Background Info

Laura was raised in Sentinel City in an upper-middle class family, having decided early in her life to follow her father’s footsteps and become a detective.  She had a keen interest in firearms in her early years, and having spent many summers with her extended family in the country, became familiar with their functions and proved to be an amazing shot.  She studied hard in school, and was well on her way to her goals when she first met Catherine “Cat” Ramos, the two hitting it off quickly, her more rational mind and cooler head serving well to balance out Cat’s hot-blooded nature.  The pair would have a few adventures during their high school and college years that showed their heroic leanings.

Working her way through the ranks at the SCPD, Laura has proven herself a skilled detective, and is currently paired with her partner, a more junior detective named Walsh.  She maintains her record as one of the best marksmen on the force, and is often urged to join up with the SWAT team as a sniper, though she continues to refuse the invitation, believing it would be a waste of her analytical skills, though deep down, in spite of her talents with firearms, she doesn’t think she could pull the trigger on someone through a rifle scope, managing only disabling shots on any perpetrators she’s had to fire upon thus far.

At least, that was the case until recently.  When Cat went missing after becoming the Pink Pussy, only to reappear wearing a mask and committing various robberies, Laura was assigned the case.  She had to keep her ties to the Pink Pussy a secret, and eventually managed to set up a trap with the aid of some of the newest heroines in Sentinel City to finally capture the pilfering Pink Pussy in the city museum, revealing a connection to not only Dollface, but a mysterious villain dubbed Kitsune, who stole a relic from the museum when Pink Pussy failed in her task.  After learning of the existence of the villain known as Dollface, and her hidden lair, Laura was left to tend to the matter of arresting Pink Pussy while the better-equipped heroines dealt with the matter, though her instincts told her that something was amiss, that she should be doing more.  With Cat safe for the time being, Laura found herself fighting with herself over what to do when her own powers awakened within her.  So, she geared up with some guns from her personal collection and donned last year’s Halloween costume and took off for Dollface’s warehouse, leaping her way through the city.

Once she had arrived, she observed from a distance, learning that the other heroines, Cyber Seer, Mecha Musume, and Black Cat, were revealed to be under Dollface’s control, with Pink Pussy’s rival, Shadow Lynx, held captive and ready to be fitted with her own mask.  Kitsune had the relic and had opened a portal to some other realm, but in the moment, before Dollface could take control over Shadow Lynx, Gun Bunny discovered that she was capable of taking the shot, taking down Dollface with a single well-placed bullet.  Thankfully, the villain’s mask slowed the bullet enough to stop it from killing the villainess, and the intervention of one of Dollface’s former captives, a young medical student, saved the woman’s life, allowing her to be sent, in a coma, to the Edgewater Institute for care and observation.

Following this event, Laura would fully embrace her Gun Bunny identity, becoming Pink Pussy’s partner to deal with the massive amounts of superpowered crime that filled the city, though she maintained her position at the police department in a precarious balancing act; luckily for her, she was possessed of amazing agility.

LORE24 ENTRY #32 – Supers Month #1 – Pink Pussy

Hero Name

Pink Pussy

Real Name

Catherine “Cat” Ruiz Ramos

Description

In her daily life, Cat is an attractive Latina woman with bleached blond hair, and blue eyes, and a healthy, muscular build, honed from years of training in various fighting styles.  For a while, she was an up and coming MMA fighter, relying on her above-average agility to outwit her opponents and get thin into various submission holds.  Since taking up the heroic mantle of Pink Pussy, she has lessened her time in the ring, focusing on work as a personal trainer and self-defense instructor in her hometown of Sentinel City.  She’s known to be rather headstrong and tends to leap into things before thinking them through, and has had to be pulled out of a bad situation more than once by her friend and lover Laura, a detective with the Sentinel City police.

When transforming into her heroic persona, Pink Pussy, Cat becomes arguably more beautiful, or at perhaps, more voluptuous.  Her body becomes even more muscular, her hair grows much longer and turns a bright shade of pink, and she takes on feline features, including ears, tail, eyes, and large claws on her oversized, paw-like hands and feet.  The transformation is violent, shredding any clothes she happens to be wearing at the time, but thankfully her body is covered in soft, pink fur, or mostly so; the fur is placed in a way as to leave plenty of skin exposed, earning her the ire of some of the more conservative types.  Her more playful and seductive personality as Pink Pussy has also gotten her plenty of accusations of being a slut or attention-whore, but her army of loyal fans know better.  She is friendly and outgoing, eager to fight crime and those willing to do evil, but loves getting praised for her actions, and is most definitely out to be even more famous than she already is.

Powers and Abilities

When transformed into Pink Pussy, Cat possesses enhanced agility, stamina, and strength befitting her nature as a large feline, with very keen senses of smell, hearing, and sight.  She also gains extraordinary recuperation, making her able to recover from serious injury must faster than normal.  Her large claws are both intimidating and functional, allowing her to easily climb walls and hold onto slick surfaces, while also being able to slice through anything she’s come up against so far, even shields of magical force.  She doesn’t necessarily understand how that’s even possible, and even her magically gifted ally Black Cat hasn’t puzzled it out yet.  She tends to focus on quick, agile strikes, keeping her enemies off balance until she can snatch them up and work them into a submission hold, often in the most sexually suggestive way possible.  Somehow, she always manages to leave behind an autographed photo of herself when she leaves defeated foes behind for the authorities or if she happens across an adoring fan, though nobody really knows where she keeps them, and Pink Pussy certainly isn’t telling.

Her powers aren’t without their flaws, however.  Cat sometimes has to fight with her inner self to avoid transforming into Pink Pussy, the beast within wanting to take over during times of great duress, or if she faces danger, headless of whether it would reveal her secret identity or not.  Transforming will destroy any clothes she happens to be wearing at the time, so she either has to find an out of the way place to strip down, or have a stash of spare clothes tucked away somewhere when she comes out of her alternate persona.  Once she transforms back to her normal self, Cat is often starving, and has earned a reputation as a big eater, and is frequently hitting Mr. Wong’s Chinese buffet after performing her heroic deeds.  Though not necessarily seeing it as a downside, Cat also tends to get very horny once she’s back to normal, and has to relieve her frustrations once business is taken care of.

Background Info

Cat grew up in Sentinel City, a rather typical middle-class upbringing, though she was always getting into fights, with her brothers and sisters, or more often, other kids in school, due to some perceived slight or what she judged to be some kind of wrongdoing.  Known as something of a troublemaker, she would turn herself around after she met Laura Conway in high school.  The two hit it off rather quickly, Laura’s cooler head tempering Cat’s hotheaded nature and managed to get her focused on applying her fighting spirit toward bouts of a more sporting nature.  This would continue through their college years and beyond, with Cat seriously taking up training and eventually entering into various MMA events.  It would be during her MMA years that she would earn the ire of one Anita Winters, a bulky, brute of a woman who seemed to be the exact opposite of Cat, all muscle and no style; the two would clash many times, though Cat got the upper hand more often than not.

It was only after the world suddenly found itself with super-powered individuals that Cat left her MMA career behind, moving in with Laura and starting work as a personal trainer to give her more time to fight crime.  She was amongst the earliest of the emerging superpowered personas to go public, and quickly earned a growing reputation for fighting the good fight, and legions of adoring fans.  It was a few months later that she earned another rival in the form of Shadow Lynx, another feline-themed Latina heroine with a growing fanbase that often clashed with one another over which of their chosen heroines was the best, and whenever the two met, there were always sparks as their personalities clashed.

Cat ran afoul of the villainous Dollface soon after the villainess made her debut.  Captured, Cat was forced to wear one of the villain’s special doll masks, which took over her mind and left her as an unwilling servant, quickly becoming the most powerful of Dollface’s minions, and being forced into committing thefts so that the villainess could increase her power and influence throughout the city, though it was discovered that Dollface was working under the direction of another, perhaps one not even of this world.  She would remain this way for several months, until a group of newcomer heroines would manage to finally free her, though her reputation would be greatly tarnished by this.  Coming out of the dark days as an unwilling minion of Dollface, Cat, never one to give up easily, has started rebuilding the good name of Pink Pussy, and has redoubled her efforts to keep Sentinel City safe, working alongside her newfound allies to uncover the mysterious figure backing Dollface:  Gun Bunny, Mecha Musume, Cyber Seer, and Black Cat.
